Macedon. Alexander III. Lampsakos (under Leonnatos, Arrhidaios or Antigonos Monophthalmos). 330-320 BC. AV Stater (8.40g, 12h). Price 1368; Anadol 228. Lightly toned. Perfectly centered and struck on a broad flan. A coin of great elegance and delicacy. Exceptional for issue. Choice extremely fine. From the B.H. collection "Give me all Alexander’s coins you have, so that I can bring hopes of luck to all my friends" asked the well-known French novelist, journalist and politician Maurice Barrès (1862-1923).
