Lot 30468 > Ferdinand Hompesch 15 Tari 1798 MS63 NGC, KM344. Believed to have been struck during the French occupation of Malta (1798-1800). Simply sublime, the surfaces blast-white and lightly Prooflike, the strike complete and strong. Unheard of in such a pristine state of preservation, the sole example with a Mint State grade at either PCGS or NGC and unrivaled by any uncertified examples we have been able to find. Sure to attract much attention as an exquisite conditional rarity of a historically important type.
